We’re featured bloggers on WorldNomads.com

We’re happy to announce — wait, not happy. Thrilled. Elated. Higher than a Spanish dope fiend after the World Cup final — that we’re blogging for the WorldNomads Off the Beaten Path blog.

We’ll be contributing regular articles about safety in less-traveled destinations.

Our maiden post is about staying safe in Papua New Guinea, an incredible place that demands a certain measure of caution.

It’s quite an honour to be featured alongside well-known travel bloggers like Nomadic Matt. We promise our posts will be useful, informative, and smartly-written.

So what’s our connection with WorldNomads? A simple four degrees of nerdy separation. The social marketing brains of the Sydney-based travel insurance company is the lovely American lass Alicia Smith.

Alicia works with Ian Cumming, founder of Travellr.com, a site I love. And I met Ian through Felipe Coimbra, a ridiculously talented developer in Montreal who created tasty Twitter apps like twtPoll and twtVite.

I visited the WorldNomads office in Sydney and sparks flew.

Disclosure: WorldNomads offered me six months of travel insurance for my work. I’m considering their offer in light of my current coverage.
